Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about sourcing, OEM production, and working with Shaper Factory.

B2B Sourcing

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Our standard MOQ is 50 pieces per style. For OEM/ODM custom orders with your own branding, MOQ starts at 100 pieces. If you're entering a new market and need a smaller test run, reach out — we can discuss options before a full commitment.
How do I know if you're a factory or a trading company?
We are a direct manufacturer based in Shenzhen with our own 2,000 sqm production facility. We welcome factory audits and can provide a live video walkthrough of our production line on request. BSCI and ISO certifications are available for download.
What payment terms do you accept?
For new buyers we require 30% deposit + 70% before shipment via T/T bank transfer or PayPal. Established partners with a positive order history can discuss net-30 or L/C terms. We do not accept credit cards for bulk orders.
Can I visit the factory in person?
Yes. We welcome on-site visits at our Shenzhen facility. If travel isn't feasible, we can arrange a live video walkthrough of the production floor. Please give us at least 3 business days' notice to schedule.
Do you work with small brands and first-time importers?
Yes. Many of our clients are DTC founders and Amazon sellers placing their first production order. We guide you through the sampling process, size grading, and compliance documentation. Our MOQ of 50 pieces is designed to make it accessible for early-stage brands.

OEM / ODM

What's the difference between OEM and ODM?
OEM means you provide the design and we manufacture to your exact specifications. ODM means we develop the design from our existing library and you brand it as your own. Most new clients start with ODM to test the market quickly, then transition to OEM as their product requirements evolve.
How long does the sampling process take?
Standard samples are ready in 5–7 business days. More complex styles — for example, multi-zone compression garments or pieces with custom hardware — can take up to 10 days. Sample fees apply but are credited toward your first production order.
Can you add my own label and retail packaging?
Yes. We handle full private label including woven neck labels, hang tags, polybag packaging, and retail-ready carton preparation. Provide your artwork files (AI or PDF) and we produce everything in-house. Label MOQ is typically 500 pieces.
Is my design protected? Can you sign an NDA?
Yes. We sign non-disclosure agreements before any design files are shared. For clients with proprietary technical specs, we can also include exclusivity clauses within defined market regions. Contact us for our standard NDA template.

Products

What shapewear categories do you produce?
We specialize in both seamless and cut-and-sew shapewear: bodysuits, waist trainers, fajas colombianas, shaper shorts, strapless and backless styles, and plus-size ranges. We can also develop custom compression garments for postpartum or medical-adjacent markets.
Do you offer plus-size grading?
Yes. We have dedicated size grading for plus-size ranges 1X – 5X with adjusted compression gradients per size step. This is particularly relevant for buyers targeting US, MEA, or Latin American markets, where standard Asian grading tables don't apply.
What's the difference between seamless and cut-and-sew shapewear?
Seamless garments are knitted as a single piece on circular knitting machines (Santoni/Matec), producing a smooth finish with no side seams. They're suited to lighter compression and everyday styles. Cut-and-sew uses woven or warp-knit panels assembled with flat-lock stitching — this method allows higher compression levels, structured boning, and complex zone design. Fajas colombianas and waist trainers are almost exclusively cut-and-sew.
What certifications do your fabrics and factory hold?
Our core fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The factory holds ISO 9001 and BSCI audit certification. Full documentation packages are available for EU buyers and compliance teams on request.

Logistics

What are your standard production lead times?
Samples: 5–7 business days. Bulk production: 20–25 days after sample approval and deposit receipt. Lead times may extend during peak season (Q3–Q4). For end-to-end planning — from first contact to goods in your warehouse — allow 6–10 weeks.
Do you support Amazon FBA packaging and labeling?
Yes. We offer FBA-compliant packaging as a standard service for Amazon seller clients — FNSKU label application, suffocation-warning polybag sealing, carton preparation, and measurement labeling. Provide your FNSKU barcodes before production is complete and we handle the rest.
Which incoterms do you ship on?
We ship on FOB Shenzhen as standard. EXW and CIF are available on request. For smaller orders, we can consolidate your shipment through a trusted local freight forwarder if you don't have a preferred agent in place.
What is the HTS code for shapewear?
Most shapewear bodysuits and compression garments fall under HTS 6212.10 (US import duty 7.5–10%). Waist trainers and cinchers typically classify under HTS 6212.20. We recommend confirming the exact classification with your customs broker before your first shipment.
